WotC_Rob spoke at a seminar and informally at Celebration IV, revealing many details about upcoming products are characters for Star Wars Minatures. Click Read More for the details...

The Force Unleashed is the next set and will be released in November 2007 despite the associated game being delayed until 2008. About 25% of the set will be characters from the game. It will be a huge set and will contain figures from all 10 factions.

LA PRÓXIMA COLECCIÓN, THE FORCE UNLEASHED, SALDRÁ EN NOV07 (PUEDE RETRASARSE HASTA 2008). SOBRE EL 25% SERÁ SOBRE EL JUEGO DEL MISMO NOMBRE. HABRÁ FIGURAS ENORMES (HUGES) Y CONTENDRÁ FIGURAS DE LAS 10 FACCIONES.

The Hoth Battle Pack will be released at the end of 2007 as a Target exclusive. It will contain various figures to recreate the battle of Hoth including General Veers Hologram and Blizzard Scout One unique AT-ST. It will contain a new Hoth map that will link up to the Hoth plains map from the AT-AT set.

EL PACK DE LA BATALLA DE HOTH SALDRÁ AL FINAL DE AÑO COMO UNA EXCLUSIVA. CONTENDRÁ VARIAS FIGURAS PARA RECREAR LA BATALLA INCLUYENDO UN HOLOGRAMA DEL GENERAL VEERS Y UNA VERSIÓN ÚNICA DE UN AT-ST (EXPLORADOR DE VENTISCA... 2008 will have 4 sets.

HABRÁ 4 COLECCIONES EL AÑO PRÓXIMO (EN LA RECTIFICACIÓN POSTERIOR SE HABLA DE 3)

If A&E needs to be reprinted, it will be on standard circle bases.
The number of VRs per set is expected to go back to the typical 12 from the 14 in A&E.
Jedi and huges will be more aggressively priced in the future to make them more competetive.
The 2007 starter has Throne Room on the other side of the Korriban map.
Korriban may recieve different starting positions if it becomes DCI legal.

Gencon 2007 Revelations

The Star Wars Miniatures/RPG panel at Gencon included Jennifer Clarke-Wilkes (SWM Editor), Chris Perkins (SW Brand Manager), Rodney Thompson (SWRPG Designer) and Chris Galloher (LFL Representative). The absence of Rob Watkins was really felt, and not as many concrete answers were given as usual for such a seminar. But some new info did slip out.

There will only be 3 new sets in 2008 instead of the 4 mentioned previously: SOLO 3 EXPANSIONES

Legacy of the Force
KOTOR themed set
Clone Wars TV series tie-in set

LEGADO DE LA FUERZA (BASADA EN EL COMIC LEGADO 130 AÑOS DESPUÉS DE LA BATALLA DE YAVIN CON UN DESCENDIENTE DE LUKE, CADE SKYWALKER), SET SOBRE KOTOR Y GUERRAS CLONE (SOBRE LA PRÓXIMA SERIE DE TV)

The Force Push power to be included in The Force Unleashed was revealed and it was stated the power would have "levels" but no details of what that meant were given. Force Unleashed will have 16 figures that tie in to the game, 14 of which have never appeared in SWM before.

The Galaxy Tiles will not contain the colored linework for Minis skirmish so won't be as useful for Minis as hoped.

Legacy of the Force will not add new factions for the far future era. Instead, it will mix the characters into the existing factions in creative ways.

What is Force Unleashed all about and what can fans look forward to from WOTC?

Sarah: The Force Unleashed explores the mysterious post Clone Wars era (between episodes III and IV) as the Empire is rising in power. In the video game, players are cast as a “Secret Apprentice” to Darth Vader, assisting him in the quest to hunt down the remaining Jedi. Along the way, they may encounter certain decisions that could change the course of their own destiny. We are taking full advantage of this expanded storyline for both Star Wars Miniatures and the Star Wars Roleplaying Game. For Miniatures, we’re releasing a huge set in November, with sixteen characters from The Force Unleashed – fourteen of which have never been seen before. We are also revealing new Force powers for Luke, Darth Vader, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Roleplaying Game will be release just prior to the video game in 2008, expanding upon the new characters, weapons, and vehicles even further. The RPG will also be a great resource for the new Force abilities and the time period during which the game is set, particularly in regards to the monolithic Empire. The premise of this new content is so cool – I cant’s wait.

Sarah: Absolutely! I loved the AT-AT and it was great to see so many of them make it into submissions during our Epic Battle Miniatures Contest for Celebration IV. We are constantly exploring the Star Wars universe for compelling content and I think you’ll see a mixture of cool creatures and scenarios in addition to our main ser releases in the future.

.....lo que a mi me gustaría se que es casi imposible, pero me encantaría que sacaran Frinjes potentes, algún mercenario en plan Cazarrecompensas en el universo Star Wars hay muchiiiisimos mercenarios muy buenos, con trasfondos apasionantes y con capacidades realmente buenas, por ejemplo el grupo de Talon Kard o el del Sol Negro, sin hablar de las familias Hutt, en las novelas salen tipos realmente duros y en las colecciones quitando los cazarecompensas de cabeza de cartel, poco mas se puede encontrar que impresione....en fin ya se que eso es imposible y seguiremos viendo, tres o cuatro nuevos Lukes, dos o tres nuevas Maras Jades, cinco o seis nuevos Vaders, etc. etc. etc.

Talon Karrde sale en la nueva republica y es mas bien normalito, tal cual en los libros, que simplemente era un pirata traficante que acabo aliandose a la republica. El del Sol Negro es el Principe Xizor, que tambien es normalito (buen efecto comandante y buena guardaespaldas). El caso es que ninguno de los dos que nombras estaria a la altura de Vader (por ejemplo) ni en el juego ni en la literatura.

Lo que tu pides de Fringes superpower, bueno, ya estan Jango y Boba que ya de por si son superbrutales y por relativamente pocos puntos. (Ahi alguno mas que da verdaderamente miedo aun contra vaders y lukes). Si yo manejase fringes, me quedaria con un ejercito como el tuyo; uno con pocos tios pero fuertotes por unos puntos razonablemente altos. Todos dan cierto miedo y sin embargo ninguno es vital para el grupo. Porque de verdad que el gran problema de un ejercito formado por superganso y el resto superflojos es el que el superganso se quede aislado o que se te lo pulan con cazarecompensas y te quedes a dos velas...

PS. El juego THE FORCE UNLEASHED promete bastante; me alegro que saquen una expansion basada en el.
